Frequently Asked Questions About Homeopathy & Our Treatments
No. The Clinic usually puts generous amounts of the liquid with the globules. The globules are moist and some free liquid is also seen in the vials in the beginning. The liquid gets absorbed by the globules and some of it evaporates. This does not effect the efficacy of the medicines.
If the medicines that you have got from the Clinic are globules (spherical white pills), then 3 pills make one dose.
- If the medicine that you have got from the Clinic are fitted with a dropper on the top and is a CLEAR liquid then 4 drops of the liquid in the vials mixed with 2 teaspoons of water or 1 table spoon of water is considered as one dose. The water may be potable water at room temperature.
- If the liquid inside the vials with droppers is colored (is a mother tincture) then 8 drops of the liquid mixed with 2 teaspoons of water or 1 table spoon of water makes one dose. The water may be potable water at room temperature.
- Alternatively the medicines may be taken directly on the tongue. The number of drops stay 4 (for clear liquids) and 8 for colored liquids (mother tinctures).
These medicines are already prepared for usage. Take one cap full at a time, as one dose.
The medicines in globules and in the droppers, when stored in a cool, dry place, away from strong odours and direct sunlight, have an expiration date of five years after the date of dispensation, as per the regulatory recommendations.
If you are medicines are in liquid form and do not have a dropper on top, then it is recommended that they be used or discarded within 15 days of dispensation from the Clinic.
The medicines are to be stored in a cool, dry place, away from strong odors and direct sunlight. The refrigerator may not be the best place to store them as a lot of strong odors from the food may be trapped inside.
In such cases the medicines are given in droppers from the Clinic. Mix 4 drops of the medicine with 2 teaspoons of water or one table spoon of water and administer it through the Ryle’s Tube or Naso Gastric Tube or Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) Tube.
If there is no such tube or this isn’t possible, then administer two drops of the medicine (whether the liquid is clear or colored) directly onto the tongue or the inside of the lower lip of the patient.
Occasionally it is recommended that BOTH these things be done, that is, administer two drops of the liquid medicine on tongue or lower lip AND administer the liquid medicines with water through the tube used for nutrition. Confirm with the Clinic if this is recommended in the case of the patient that you are caring for.
Avoid consuming excessively sour food or beverages. Moderate sour flavor is alright. Also avoid the consumption of raw onions and garlic. Very strong flavors of any kind that linger in your mouth interfere with the action of homeopathic medicines. Two-three cups of coffee are allowed. Constant or repeated consumption of any food or beverage which results in lasting flavors in your mouth will interfere with the action of the homeopathic medicine.
Homeopathic medicines work best when no other pharmaceutical agents are working on the body and the immune system of the body is at its unrestrained best. However, due to the nature of the disease, stage and extent of metastasis etc. it may not always be possible to stop all conventional forms of therapy.
Homeopathy can be given in conjunction with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In fact in addition to combatting the cancer and its spread the homeopathic medicine will help tolerate and overcome the effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
